Georgia is famous not only for its beautiful nature and ancient history, but with its unique and delicious cuisine. Each region of the country boasts with its variety of dishes and is a fantastic destination for gourmands from around the world.

Arrival in Tbilisi. Meeting with a company representative. Transfer to the hotel.
Overnight.

After breakfast departure to Mtskheta – one of the oldest cities and the capital of the Early Georgian Kingdom of Iberia from the 3rd century BC to the 5th century AD. Visiting Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (IV c. AD / XI c.) – iconic cathedral first built in the 4th century after Georgia was converted to Christianity. Due to its importance, the cathedral was almost destroyed as a result of numerous invasions and the building was constructed in the XI century. Preserving numerous valuable frescoes and serving historically as the official burial place for the Royal Family, the monument is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visiting another significant attraction Jvari Monastery (VI c.) also listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The monastery distinguished with unique architecture stands on the rocky mountaintop and boasts a stunning view on the confluence of the rivers Mtkvari and Aragvi and the town of Mtskheta. Lunch at the traditional Georgian restaurant, where you will be able to taste delicious local dishes and variety of Georgian wine. Back to Tbilisi.

After breakfast departure to Sighnaghi – one of the most charming towns in the historical wine region of Kakheti. Located on a steep hill, the town overlooks Alazani Valley and faces the Caucasus Mountains. Sighnaghi is distinguished with its beautiful architecture, picturesque landscapes, pastel houses, and narrow, cobblestone streets. Being a popular wedding destination it is also called “the City of Love”. Visiting Bodbe Monastery – one of the major pilgrimage sites in Georgia due to its association with St. Nino, the 4th century evangelist of Georgians, whose relics are shrined there. Visiting the museum of Niko Pirosmani – internationally recognized Georgian artist famous for his unique “naïve” style of painting.

Before lunch, we will have a possibility to take part in cooking masterclass and bake delicious local bread Shotis Puri in a traditional oven called “Tone”. We will take part in Churchkhela making process – a traditional Georgian desert with walnuts threaded onto a string, dipped in thickened grape juice and dried in the shape of a sausage. During lunch we will taste variety of delicious local wine. Back to Tbilisi.

Early breakfast and departure to one of the most picturesque mountainous regions of Georgia – Kazbegi. Distinguished with its oldest traditions, ancient history and culture, Kazbegi region is famous with its stunning nature and unique hospitability of local people. Our first stop will the ancient fortress of Ananuri and enjoy breathtaking views on Zhinvali Reservoir. Departure to Kazbegi and visiting Gergeti Trinity Church (XIV c.) located at an elevation of 2170 meters, under Mount Kazbegi. Due to its unique location on the top of the mountain and picturesque panoramic views, it is one of the most visited places in Georgia.

In Stepantsminda we will take part in a master class on cooking the most popular Georgian dunpling –Khinkali. We will learn how to wrap Khinkali and later enjoy it for a lunch together with Chacha – Georgian homemade grape vodka. Relax after a busy day. Back to Tbilisi.

After breakfast explore Old Tbilisi with its famous healing Sulphur Baths, old churches of Metekhi (VI c.) and Anchiskhati (VI c.), Blue Mosque of Tbilisi with its beautiful Persian-influenced façade, beautiful clock tower with mechanical puppet theatre inside with an angel ringing the bell every hour, narrow streets of Old Tbilisi with small colourful houses, cozy cafes, bars, and gift shops. You will take a ride on the aerial cable car to the ancient fortress of Narikala (IV c.) and enjoy magnificent views on Tbilisi.

After the walking tour we will take part in another master class, where the cook will show us how to cook real Georgian Khachapuri, Phkhali and eggplants with nuts. During the lunch we will taste variety of Georgian dishes. Back to the hotel.
