Trekking Route in Tusheti
Tusheti is one of the hidden gems in the mountains of northeastern Georgia with its picturesque nature and gorgeous landscapes. Distinguished with stunning alpine meadows and pine forests, the region still preserves unique cultural heritage and remnants of the ancient Tush villages. The single unpaved road to get to Tusheti passes over the 2900 m. Abano Pass and alongside with extreme feelings also is a perfect chance to enjoy the stunning views. The Tusheti Protected Areas includes Tusheti National Park, Tusheti Protected Landscape and Tusheti Strict Nature Reserve with total protected area about 113,660.2 ha.

Departure to Tusheti. Lunch on the way to Abano Pass. Arrival in Omalo. Camping. Exploring local highlights. Between Omalo and Shenako lies the tower called “Castle of Love” offering nice view on Alazani Valley. Shenako is one of the most beautiful local villages with rustic houses, church, and old traditional brewery. Continue our way to Diklo. Back to Omalo. Overnight in a local guesthouse.
After breakfast discover the towers located on Keselo hills. The towers were built during Mongol Invasion in the 13th century, 7 among them were reconstructed recently and one of them is home to a very interesting ethnographic museum. Departure to Piriketa Tusheti. Discover the villages of Dartlo, Kvavlo, Pharsma, Girevi, Hegho. Dinner in Dartlo. Back to Omalo. Overnight in a local guesthouse.
After breakfast departure to Gometsari Valley. Exlpore villages Jvarboseli, Dotchu, Iliurta. Dinner in Omalo. Departure to Tbilisi.
